Charlotte Chapter Leadership

Melissa Polce'99, President
I am proud to be an Old Dominion Alumna! I am proud of our school, campus and traditions. Being a part of the Charlotte chapter allows for my other fellow local alums to come and gather as we share in ODU pride and make new friendships. Go Monarchs! Go Big Blue!

My education at Old Dominion has provided me with opportunities that many have not had. I have fond memories of the school back in the early 1990's, sitting and watching the basketball team in the 1992 NCAA with hundreds of other students packed into the lounge at Webb Center, reading the Mace and Crown, skipping calculus to play Street Fighter 2 in the video arcade. Mostly I remember my professors that made into a man and the friends that I still talk to today.

I support ODU so future students can have the same great experience that I did while at school there. Being a part of the Charlotte Alumni Chapter has been wonderful. It is a great way to meet local people you already have something in common with. Plus I get to promote my alma mater to people in the area.

I volunteer on the board of the ODU Alumni Charlotte Chapter because I love ODU. School was such a great experience for me and I had such great support from the whole community there. Now I want to be able to give back and help promote the university and fellow graduates. Plus it's fun. I want to be involved and meet fellow Monarchs who also picked to live in Charlotte- We must have a lot in common, right? |
