Alumni in Admissions Program

Help Old Dominion recruit the best and brightest new students by volunteering for the Alumni in Admissions Program. As an Alumni in Admissions Volunteer you can help your alma mater by participating in the following activities:

Volunteering at College Fairs, Admitted Students Receptions & Open Houses
Volunteer at college fairs in your community and encourage your friends and neighbors to attend ODU. If you're near campus, join us at an Open House to help potential students learn more about the university. Our alumni are our best example of ODU's success. By sharing your stories with potential students, you can aid in their decisions to apply to and attend Old Dominion.

Letter-Writing to Prospective Students
Write personal letters to students who have been admitted to Old Dominion, encouraging these students to accept their admissions offers. When alumni write about their favorite Old Dominion memories and discuss how their Old Dominion degrees have led to personal success, these campaigns have had tremendous results for enrollment.

Send-Off Parties
At the end of the summer, just before first-year students begin their college careers at Old Dominion, alumni welcome them to the Monarch family at send-off parties in their communities. This is a wonderful opportunity for new students to meet one another before they move to Norfolk and for alumni to reconnect and share their ODU experiences.
