Student Programs

As a part of fulfilling our mission of service to the university, the Alumni Association offers a variety of programs to assist students in their academic endeavors and personal growth. Many of these programs connect current Monarchs with alumni and make lasting impressions on these future members. It is the Association's hope that students will recognize early on the importance of staying active in the life of the university after graduation.

Student / Alumni Networking Opportunities
Alumni have lasting impressions on current students. ODUAA hosts lectures, dinners and social events, connecting today's Monarchs with alumni who share academic and professional interests.

Future ODU Alumni Network
ODUAA administers a Future ODU Alumni online network via Facebook to encourage students and recent graduates to learn from and inspire one another.

Recognition at Commencement
At the May and December commencement ceremonies, representatives from the Alumni Association welcome new graduates into the Association with a small gift.

Senior Brunch & Toast
The Alumni Association sponsors a senior breakfast two times each year, honoring our newest members.

Outstanding Scholar Awards
At each commencement ceremony, the student with the highest grade point average and at least 60 credit hours from each college is recognized as an Alumni Association's Outstanding College Scholar. Among these, the top graduate is also recognized as the Alumni Association's Outstanding University Scholar.

Athlete of the Year Award
Each spring, the Alumni Association honors two student-athletes - one male and one female -- as the Athlete of the Year.
